Faith and Hope

One of the most difficult things to do in life is to actually live in the here and now. So much has happened in our lives that it seems to become a blur of yesterdays issues and the impending fear of tomorrow. How in the world can we ever feel at peace when we are struggling with what has happened and to top it off we are afraid of what might happen...based upon what has already happened. Oh boy!... and I am not about to pretend that life is a bed of roses either, you wont find that pretentious attitude with me....nope...I know too much of the truth in that life is hard for so many. However, I will offer up what has helped me and others through the darkest of times. Here it is, and as simple as it may seem, well, it is the only way. Faith and hope, and the way I see it... they are one in the same. We can always hope for a better today, and for a better tomorrow, because otherwise we are stuck in the desolate and dark lands of fear and frustration. I know for me, when it seems to be the darkest, my prayer is always one of asking for a better way to create a brighter tomorrow, and this prayer is based on this faith that I am being heard and the hope that my prayers will be answered. It is in these moments that I do find some peace and I work my way back around to the things of which I have gratitude. No matter what is going on around me, I do have much to be grateful for.... my children, my animals, my health, the beauty of the birds and the beauty of nature. For me, I have found that the only way to get out of the great fear is to somehow create a bit of mental control, change the channel of my mind, and alter my thoughts to hope and gratitude. If you have the strength to do this you will then find that it was simply a thought, a thought that you created here and now, a thought of gratitude and hope that brought you to the Divine inner peace of all is well. Remember, all you need is the faith of a mustard seed....Matthew 17:20 KJV: "And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."
